Digital Native

I believe that I am one hundred percent a digital native. I grew up when technology was really changing and becoming a large part of our world. I still remember the age of dial-up- telling my sister to get off the phone so that I could go online. When I was in middle school, AIM was the popular way to communicate with friends but then  MySpace became the most popular thing.

Because I grew up with the changes in technology, it allowed me to always be on top of things. Even today, I feel with any new piece of technology or app that comes out, I have no problem exploring it and feeling comfortable with it.

I feel that it is important for me to recognize that overall although I am a digital native, I definitely hate it at times. Although technology is beautiful, I am still a paper person for many things. While reading, I need to have it in a hard copy. There is something about it that cannot be replaced for me. I find face-to-face interacts and connections so important. When I go out with people, especially friends and family, I expect them to be in the moment.
